Hello everyone and Happy New Year! Sheila here, trying to get this blog up and running before we officially start teaching next week!
I am joined by the lovely Lulu, Sarah, and Lexi—the YS Squad of 2020. We are four MIT undergraduate students—hailing from psychology, bioengineering, and planetary science backgrounds—joining together through MIT Global Teaching Labs to teach STEM abroad for the month of January. There are quite a few MIT students running around in Korea this year, and the four of us will be teaching at the Yeomyung School, which caters to North Korean refugees in Seoul.
For me, this will be my third time doing GTL, and second time at Yeomyung. If you want to see the YS squad last year, feel free to check out https://gtlkorea2019.home.blog/.
I don’t want to give away the surprises in store for the next two weeks, but the following materials list (behold the power of Amazon Prime) is a preview of things to come: a 3D printer, some bacteria, frogs, sodium sulfate, rockwool, some drones, borax, and a 4cm x 4cm x 4cm plastic cube.
Well then… Stay tuned! 새해 복 많이 받으세요!
